Jordan Lake Litter Cleanup by Team Dragonfly

Dragonfly Pond Works is a proud supporter of the Clean Jordan Lake Adopt-A-Shoreline program. Since 2018, Dragonfly team members have volunteered several times a year to remove litter from our assigned shoreline. The program helps keep the 180 miles of Jordan Lake shoreline clean and healthy with the help from volunteer groups, clubs, and businesses.

Dragonfly team members pick up litter along the shoreline of beautiful Jordan Lake.

Team Dragonfly removed 20 bags of trash and 21 propane canisters during our most recent cleanup. Our assigned section of shoreline includes a bridge where we consistently find a high number of propane canisters. The program organizers report that the propane canisters are utilized by night fishermen. This month’s cleanup included two very special volunteers, the daughters of Project Manager, Jason.

Paul, Mickey, James, Jason, Jason’s daughters, Davis, Drew, and Devin (not pictured, photo credit) participated in the cleanup on October 29, 2021.

Jordan Lake provides drinking water for many Triangle area residents, recreational opportunities, and wildlife habitats. Regular removal of Jordan Lake litter is imperative to the health of this beautiful space. Visit the Clean Jordan Lake website to learn more about this important resource and what's being done to protect it.

Thank you to all of our team members (and Jason’s daughters!) that volunteered for this cleanup and a special thanks to Devin for providing great photos!
