Dragonfly In The Community: Adopt-A-Shoreline

The Dragonfly Team has participated in the Clean Jordan Lake Adopt-A-Shoreline program since 2018. Dragonfly team members volunteer several times throughout the year to remove litter from our assigned shoreline. The program is designed for groups, clubs, and businesses to help keep the 180 miles of Jordan Lake shoreline clean and healthy. We recently completed our Fall Jordan Lake cleanup!

During the most recent litter removal, the Dragonfly volunteers collected 17 bags of trash and 8 propane canisters. The team reports that this is thankfully less trash and propane canisters than is usually found on our stretch of shoreline, progress! We have continued to see a reduction in the number of propane canisters, which program organizers report are utilized by night fishermen. The volunteers this outing even included a Dragonfly team member sibling!
